Marines and Members: Our next regularly scheduled meet will be on Oct. 2, 2000 @
19:00 hr. As usual, a fine
meal will be served along with refreshments.
Meal time and social hour is between 18:00 and 19:00 hr. Please try to attend and support your league. General Information: As everyone probably already knows, we are still talking to
the insurance company about the damage to the roof of our building.
We had the neighbor’s pecan tree fall on top of the building
during a recent storm, and we filed a claim for the damages.
We should be hearing from the insurance company soon.
After the repairs are completed, we will go on to the parking lot
project. We are now renting the building four days a week to an
offshore company to hold safety classes, and we are asking that if you
go to the hut while the classes are in progress, please use the side
door on the Auxiliary side. This
source of revenue is needed. Our
building chairman and assistant are doing a fine job of keeping up with
the cleaning chores, but they do need help.
The classes are usually over at 1:00 p.m., so if you can turn out
to help. The work is not hard, but it needs to be done daily. Local Interest: The Top Gun Shooting Range on Venture Boulevard held a Fall
Shooting Match September 16th and 17th.
They are going to donate part of the proceeds to charitable
organizations. Our MCL was there to help, and hopefully, they will donate
to our Toys For Tots Program, which will begin shortly. Sick and In Distress: On a sad note, we just received word that Marine Leo Lirette
has passed away on Sept. 24, 2000.
Let us keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers. From the Auxiliary: Madame President says she would like to see all of the
ladies turn out for the meeting and bring in a new member. Good of the League: Remember to attend the monthly meeting and bring with you a
new member or bring back an old one. October
Bingo Schedule:
We always need your help at these bingo games, so if you can turn out, please do. .
