Marines,

Our next regular scheduled meeting will be on April 3, 2000 at 1800 hours.  As usual a fine meal will be served along with refreshments.  Our Detachment Chaplain will say grace before mealtime.  Following at 1900 hours we will begin the joint MCL & MCLA Meeting, followed by a short break after this meeting adjourns.  Then begins our regular MCL Meeting.  Please try to attend, and if possible, bring a new or old member with you.  Our Detachment is functioning well, but with a larger attendance it would be even BETTER.  So again please try to ATTEND.

GENERAL INFORMATION

There are a few things on the agenda as of this writing:

The Cerebral Palsy Crawfish Boil Off at the Houma Air Base will be held on April 29, 2000.  There will be several teams competing.  Our Detachment will also have a Boiling Team enter.  So if you think you can beat out the next team, sign up to compete.  Just contact Junior Past Cmdt. Ned Bergeron for further information on this.

In June, Houma-Terrebonne Detachment MCL will be hosting the Department Convention.  We are going to need help from the membership to make this a success. This event will be discussed at the meeting a lot further.  If you can help, sign up and pitch in.

The SE Division Assistant Vice Cmdt. Ralph, Knox, from the PL Wilson Detachment of Mobile, Alabama, will be the installing officers for the New Department Officers.  Brochures are available at the hut.  Feel free to take one if you wish.

A drawing for  “A Wheelbarrow-Full-of-Booze” will be held.  If you wish to donate a spare bottle of whiskey, wine, or beer for the barrow please bring it to the hut.  Cash will be accepted, also.

Marines, there are a lot of things that our detachment gets involved with during the course of one year.  We especially need help and support form our members for the job to be successful.  Please help--- Don’t be bashful---Volunteer!!!!  Volunteering may be time consuming, but it is fun.  Remember we do this for charity and the underprivileged.  So pitch in---- Get involved--- For the Good of the League.

This week we were busy finishing our wreath for the National Ditty Bags.  We will be doing other things and with your help we will have the best Ditty Bag ever.  We ask you to share the cute things you know with us.  Why not give Mrs. Juanita or myself a call and we will set up a day for you to teach us.

For the Fourth of July we are planning to make something patriotic for the old folks Home.  We would like to plan other things, but we need your help.  Let us hear from you.  Hope our letter finds you well, and we are looking forward to seeing you at the next meeting
